Job Description Summary:
Join our team and be the welcoming face of our leisure centre! We are looking for a friendly, organised, and customer-focused Receptionist to provide an excellent front-of-house service to our customers and visitors. This is a varied role where you will help create a positive customer experience while supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy leisure facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional, welcoming reception service to customers and visitors.
- Handle enquiries, bookings, and customer information efficiently.
- Process payments and maintain accurate financial records using electronic payment systems.
- Create and update customer records on our booking and management systems.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to managers and centre staff.
- Respond to customer queries and complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, including use of the public address system when required.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.

Role and Purpose
To provide a courteous, polite and responsive reception, enquiry and booking service for customers and visitors which promotes a professional image at all times.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
- Provide an effective reception service for customers to assist them in making choices about products and services.
- To communicate effectively with all members of staff when dealing with customer enquiries and requirements.
- To provide efficient clerical and administrative support for managers.
- To efficiently process customer details and create accurate database records.
- To properly receipt and account for customer payments.
- To communicate clearly and concisely with staff and customers using the internal Public Address System.
- There may be a requirement to change the shift/working pattern of the post to meet the needs of the service.
- You may be required to undertake duties associated with a lower graded position.
- The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull Culture and Leisure.
