Hull College – Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Salary: £24,794. Annual Leave: 31 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period).
As our Work Placement Officer, you will arrange and monitor the progress of full‑time students on industry placements. Working in a team, you will source learners, pre‑screen and facilitate pre‑interview preparation for all vacancies to ensure a high‑quality placement service is provided, supporting learners and businesses for mutual success. Hull College is a large vocational institute dedicated to creating careers and providing quality education and training for school leavers and adults.
Responsibilities- Arrange and monitor extended work placements for full‑time students.
- Manage a caseload of learners with minimum supervision to agreed timescales and standards.
- Responsible for risk assessments and Health and Safety issues that may relate to students within the workplace.
- Support tutors in the visiting schedule for all students.
- Assist in the administration with the recording of work placement activities.
- Promote the College’s curriculum programmes to employers and prospective learners.
- Attend internal and external meetings and events and report on learner progress.
- Maintain auditable records and record progress of learners on Pro Monitor.
- Practical experience working in early years settings, schools, colleges, or youth work and assessing experience.
- Understanding of T Levels and industry placement requirements (e.g., safeguarding, placement hours, employer engagement).
- Experience liaising with employers and supporting students in finding and completing placements.
