Lecturer in Travel and Tourism – Hull
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £25,500 – £39,267 FTE per annum
Annual Leave: 42 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)

Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality teaching and learning, ensuring stretch, challenge and engagement of students of all ages and abilities.
- Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials, using Canvas.
- Coordinate and support course activities to achieve curriculum area targets.
- Take responsibility for and facilitate academic tutorials for students.
- Involve in marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students, including attending open events, school tasters and enrolment events, amongst other activities.
- Assess, monitor and record feedback to students to facilitate their best achievement using the College’s data systems and processes, working to exam board guidelines and quality systems.
- Lead, coordinate and support IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area.
- Work closely with staff and managers within the College to ensure consistency and sharing of best practice.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject specialism.
- Complete all mandatory training in a timely manner and ensure training is updated per College guidance and regulations.
- Actively comply with and contribute to the College’s policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection.
What we’re looking for
- Subject specialism (minimum Level 3/4).
- Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards.
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Experience of working in an academic setting and supporting learners to meet their needs.
- Knowledge of the specialist sector.
- Organisational, administrative and time management skills.
- Ability to use own initiative to develop and improve the service within College policy and procedures.
