Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, engaging and challenging teaching and learning, employing innovative and interactive teaching methods to ensure stretch, challenge, and engagement of students of all ages and abilities.
- Lead, coordinate and support course activities to achieve curriculum area targets, including collation and submission of financial claims to appropriate funding bodies and partners as required.
- Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials using Canvas.
- Facilitate academic tutorials, contribute to marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students and participate in open events, school tasters and enrolment events.
- Assess, monitor and record timely feedback to students; lead IV/IQA processes and contribute to quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/vocational updating.
- Attend meetings and communicate with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required.
- Coordinate and support course activities that will support the achievement of curriculum area targets, accurately carry out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Specialism in Brickwork at level 3 and above.
- Certification of Education/PGCE or willingness to work towards GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Experience working within Further/Higher education.
- Experience of course leadership.
- Ability to work as a professional team member and liaise with tutors, employers, awarding bodies and other agencies.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work.
