Hull Salary: Hourly paid at £12.22 per hour. Casual hours as required (will require evening working for exams).
We are looking for Exams Invigilators and Administrators to support the MIS Directorate which includes Data, Compliance and Exams functions to ensure we deliver a responsive and high‑quality service. Successful candidates will provide Invigilation and Support for examinations and assessments to Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and Hull College requirements. Ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations in an environment that enables a student to perform at their best. Work flexibly and support other colleagues within the department and across all sites to maintain and support other services throughout the key academic cycles of Planning, Timetabling, Enrolment and Exams.
Responsibilities of our Exams Invigilator & MIS Administrator:
- Support the administration of the full MIS directorate, ensuring compliance is followed in all processes.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of exam papers before, during and after an exam.
- Pick up exam papers and materials prior to the exam, check that the correct papers have been delivered to the exam room and ensure that the exam room is correctly set up, including the display of the required examination notices.
- Invigilate exams and assessments to JCQ Regulations and the college standards for both paper‑based and online exams.
- Ensure that efficient time keeping is maintained at the start and end of the exams.
- Deal with queries, problems and illness in a calm, efficient and professional manner before, during and after each exam.
- Ensure that a candidate’s identity is verified against acceptable forms of identification.
- Check and complete the attendance register and associated paperwork and ensure that the right candidates are present for the right exams.
- Act as a reader, scribe or prompter to a candidate who has additional needs as and when required.
- Closely monitor the conduct of the examination and candidate throughout, ensuring that all rules are followed and that any attempt to disrupt an exam or use unfair means is dealt with appropriately.
- Collect papers and scripts at the end of the exam, and ensure that all appropriate administrative tasks are completed before returning them promptly to the exams office.
- Administer online exams as required, unlocking tests, overseeing the assessments, issuing results at the end of the assessment and printing results and completing the necessary paperwork.
- Input, validate and maintain accurate and timely student data records.
- Assist in the data collection through the learner journey as and when required, from enrolment, student records maintenance through to exam certification.

- English & Maths GCSE Grade 9 – 4 (A – C) or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
