As our Catering Assistant, you will deliver a quality food and beverages service to customers at Hull College Catering Services outlets, including cash handling, till operation and delivery of hospitality. The postholder must be able to work flexible hours as required to suit business needs.
Responsibilities of our Catering Assistant:
- Prepare, cook and serve foods and beverages as required.
- Prepare sandwiches, paninis, salad boxes, package and label.
- Setup and clear away counter as required.
- Clean and tidy (operate appropriate equipment for completing cleaning tasks), in service, preparation and dining areas.
- Handle cash, operate cash registers and complete cashing up procedures as required.
- Maintenance of temperature monitoring records for hot & cold foods in service and storage areas, in accordance with procedures and legal standards.
- Involved in all aspects of stock control including ordering, checking in, putting away, and rotating stock deliveries.
- Cleaning, filling and general procedural requirements of vending machines and other display units as necessary.
- Responsible for ensuring high standards of personal hygiene & cleanliness, ensuring catering hygiene practices are followed at all times in accordance with Food Service Policy, and written/verbal instructions.
- Work in all areas of catering including coffee pod.
