We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Hull City Football Club as a Retail Store Manager at Tiger Leisure, based at the MKM Stadium.
The Retail Store Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the Hull City AFC retail store, ensuring excellent merchandising standards, strong customer engagement, effective stock control and a professional matchday retail experience.
The role supports the delivery of commercial targets while ensuring the store reflects the standards, values and identity of Hull City AFC at all times.
- Your key responsibilities
- Maintain high merchandising standards across all retail areas, ensuring products are well presented, correctly priced, fully replenished and aligned with club brand guidelines.
- Complete and maintain all daily, weekly and monthly reports and checklists.
- Ensure the store is clean, organised, safe and welcoming for supporters, visitors and staff at all times.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer engagement, creating a positive and professional shopping experience for every supporter.
- Monitor store presentation throughout the day and take prompt action to address any issues with displays, cleanliness or customer flow.
- Support the delivery of in-store product launches, promotional activity and key retail campaigns, including kit launches, seasonal ranges and club-led initiatives.
- Plan and manage staff rotas to ensure the store is appropriately staffed for trading patterns, product launches, peak periods and matchdays.
- Set clear expectations for staff presentation, professionalism, punctuality and customer service standards.
- Brief, motivate and support the retail team to deliver consistent service standards and achieve store objectives.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of retail team members, ensuring new starters understand store procedures, service expectations and club values.
- Delegate daily tasks effectively and follow up to ensure completion to the required standard.
- Manage stock levels within the store and stockroom, ensuring availability of key lines and timely replenishment of the shop floor.
- Ensure deliveries are received, checked, stored and processed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain an organised stockroom environment that supports efficient picking, replenishment and stock control.
- Plan matchday store operations, ensuring staffing, stock, tills, customer flow and service standards are prepared in advance.
- Coordinate matchday retail priorities with relevant internal teams to deliver a smooth and professional supporter experience.
- Ensure efficient, friendly and commercially focused service.
- The safeguarding and welfare of our players is paramount and as such this position may be subject to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience within a managerial position, 2-3 years (essential)
- Experience in a fast paced retail environment (essential)
- Experience in a similar sports retail environment (desirable)
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and drive a team day to day
- Excellent product knowledge and awareness of what makes an excellent shopping experience
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong numerical/analytical skills
- Ability to make smart commercial decisions
- Some flexibility to travel will be required on occasion
- Eligibility for Employment in the UK
