Responsibilities
The Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the team. The aim of the service is to provide support and advocacy to victims / survivors of domestic abuse. Your primary role will be to provide victim lead trauma informed strength based support and advocacy to victims / survivors referred to the service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience of direct work with victims / survivors affected by domestic abuse or safeguarding adults or children.
- Demonstrated ability to work with victims / survivors in an empowering and supportive way.
- Awareness and understanding of the Duluth power and control methodologies, power differentials and inequalities between men and women and the effects that domestic abuse has on victims / survivors and their children.
- Effective communication, organisational skills and the ability to work using your own initiative and in partnership with other agencies.
- Informed understanding of safeguarding children and adults is essential.
