Key duties:
- To provide a proactive casework management and service that is responsive, and customer focussed, for children, young people and their families with SEND in accordance with the Children & Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice 2015.
- To co-ordinate, facilitate and process the statutory Education Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review process.
- Draft statutory Education Health & Care plans (EHCP) for children and young people following EHC needs assessments or annual review amendments.
- To facilitate and engage in partnership working to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND in a creative and outcome-focused way.
- To ensure effective co-production, co-planning, and collaborative working with parents, young people, and other professionals.
We are looking for someone who shares our belief in Hull City Council and our commitment to improving the lives of children and young people. You must have a passion for working in SEND and experience in education. Strong relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders are essential.
Effective communication is vital; you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure. You must be self-motivated, highly organized, able to meet deadlines, and work within prescribed timescales.
This is a permanent, part-time position for 18.5 hours per week. Flexibility in working hours is available and can be discussed during the interview process.
