Due to the roll out of Simpler Recycling in April 2026 within Streetscene Services we have a brilliant opportunity to join our Waste Team. We are looking to recruit staff to start training in January 2026.
The successful applicant will drive refuse collection vehicles and direct a waste collection team with responsibility for ensuring statutory waste collection services are delivered and lead a collection team to provide a reliable and efficient refuse and recycling collection service, adapting proactively and reactively to traffic conditions, access issues and additional collections and with responsibility for completion of electronic daily schedules and feedback including supplementary paperwork.
This role provides a statutory refuse service to public and trade customers contributing to the Council\’s statutory recycling targets and departmental objectives.
You will ensure the collection team deliver a customer focused service at all times including provision of information and advice to customers on waste collection service issues including bin presentation, overfilled bins, contamination issues, damaged bins and access to other services i.e. bulky items and recycling.
