Provide cleaning services to a pre-determined area in accordance with specifications and safe systems of work. Maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and healthy environment. Carry out the operational day-to-day management of cleaning services in partnership with area supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Organise all labour, order materials, and equipment within a work area in accordance with procedures, work schedules, and safe working practices.
- Implement corrective action and report any problems or incidents to the Area Supervisor, maintaining accurate records as appropriate.
- Deliver induction training of cleaning assistants in accordance with safe systems of work and the Training and Development policy.
- Manage and cover staff absence to ensure SLA is adhered to with regards to maintaining standards.
- Liaise with and investigate customer complaints and report corrective action to the Area Supervisor in accordance with the Council’s complaints procedure.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of cleaning teams within the designated area and maintain and develop operational practices and standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for clients and the allocated cleaning team for any matters relating to service level agreements at designated sites.
- Check cleaning assistants’ attendance and organise relief cover where necessary.
- Supervise all cleaning staff, focusing on their performance in terms of standards of cleanliness and their behaviour whilst on duty.
- Undertake cleaning duties in accordance with the safe systems of work within a work area.
- Ensure personal health and safety responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety policy.

Salary: £24,796.00 – £25,583.00 per annum.
