12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover, part‑time (34 hours), appointment to start upon acceptance. 1‑to‑1 Residential Care Worker responsible for delivering personalised care and support to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of residents, ensuring their safety, dignity and well‑being.
Qualifications
- Direct experience caring for adults in a paid or voluntary setting.
- Holding a care certificate, Level 2 care apprenticeship, or the ability and willingness to work towards these qualifications.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to listen empathically and act on individual needs and preferences.
Responsibilities
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults.
- Provide personal care (washing, bathing, toileting, dressing) while encouraging independence and choice.
- Monitor completion of care and support plans and prepare monthly summaries.
- Act as the service user’s key worker; attend reviews and support plan development.
- Support social and emotional needs by encouraging interaction with family, carers and the community.
- Facilitate participation in group or individual activities; escort for medical appointments and holidays.
- Maintain accurate daily records (case recording, financial transactions) in compliance with regulations.
- Promote a safe environment: domestic duties, cleaning, infection control.
- Prepare and serve meals, handle food records and manage stock control.
- Assist with medication ordering, stock control, and administer medication per prescription and risk assessment.
- Engage in development training and stay updated on sector legislation and initiatives.
- Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Council health and safety responsibilities.
Compensation
Pay Range: £25,583.00 – £26,403.00.
