Are you passionate about making a positive and lasting difference for some of our most vulnerable children, young people, and families? Are you looking for a new challenge? Then come and join our new Family solution service.
This role will provide professional and practical support to families where their children may need to come into care as it is deemed unsafe at home. This will involve dealing with complex situations where risk is high.
This role will undertake family group decision making meetings to identify potential extended family and friends' network who may be able to support and care for the children. This is a new requirement for local authorities.
This role is to work alongside the team manager in terms of allocating work, visiting families, chairing and facilitating family meetings, and supporting/supervising the Family support practitioners.
You will have good knowledge and understanding of children's safeguarding work so that you can provide clear oversight to meet our children's needs in a timely way, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved. An ability to challenge effectively and support families is essential. Being able to deliver excellent practice whilst prioritising competing demands is also essential.
