The Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the team. The aim of the service is to provide support and advocacy to victims/survivors of domestic abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide victim-led trauma-informed, strength-based support and advocacy to victims/survivors referred to the service.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of direct work with victims/survivors affected by domestic abuse or safeguarding adults or children.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work with victims/survivors in an empowering and supportive way.
  • Awareness and understanding of the Duluth power and control methodologies, power differentials and inequalities between men and women, and the effects that domestic abuse has on victims/survivors and their children.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills with the ability to work using your own initiative and in partnership with other agencies.
  • Informed understanding of safeguarding children and adults is essential.
