A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Licensing Officer to join the busy Licensing Section at 33 Witham. You will be responsible for assisting the team in carrying out the statutory licensing functions of the council, including hackney carriage and private hire licensing, alcohol and entertainment licensing, charitable collections and the gambling elements of the service.

- Assist the Licensing Section in carrying out statutory licensing functions of the council.
- Manage or support hackney carriage and private hire licensing, alcohol and entertainment licensing, charitable collections, and gambling elements of the service.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) and good organisational skills with a methodical approach to work.
- Calm and approachable manner when dealing with persons displaying a wide range of emotions.
- Understanding and knowledge of licensing issues and legislation preferred.
- Previous experience of general administration, ideally in a customer service or regulatory field, including the production of reports and letters, and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- This is a graded post; appointment to the higher grade will be subject to the applicant demonstrating a high level of previous experience in a licensing/enforcement background.
