Children and Young People Service are recruiting to a Professional Practice Assistant position based at the East Locality Team, providing a flexible, high quality, efficient and responsive business support service complying with procedures and practices to support the delivery of frontline services. There is an expectation that you will cover front of house at other sites city wide. Front of house provides an effective customer focussed service to children, young people, their families, carers and professionals.

Responsibilities

  • You will be based on the reception desk, meeting and greeting visitors to the team; therefore, resilience is required as you will be dealing with difficult life experienced visitors face to face.
  • The role involves answering telephone calls for Children’s Safeguarding which can be difficult and challenging, requiring you to work within an emotive and demanding working environment.
  • Other tasks include issuing cash payments, updating and retrieving information within Liquidlogic along with a variety of other administration tasks.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3, working towards a level 3 qualification or equivalent experience of working in a busy demanding environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of IT.
  • The role can be emotionally demanding; you must be able to maintain confidentiality working within GDP Regulations.
