Are you organised, curious, and looking to build a career in transport and logistics? 2XL UK is looking for a Junior Transport Planner Apprentice to join their growing team and start building a long-term career within the logistics industry.

2XL UK is part of the wider ECS group, a supply chain logistics company, and their UK operation plays an important role in bringing products into the country that you see every day on supermarket shelves. It can be a busy environment, but there’s a real sense of achievement in knowing that the products you see in stores are there because of the work you and the wider team have helped make happen.

Key Responsibilities

• Contacting external partners to obtain required information and uploading data into their systems.
• Supporting the management and coordination of equipment within their fleet.
• Monitoring units and alerting partners and colleagues when they haven't left the port in time to meet delivery requirements.
• Responding to enquiries received through their general mailbox.
• Supporting the Head Planner with transport planning activities.
• Developing your understanding of transport, logistics and the wider business.

Skills & Knowledge

• Good time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
• Common sense and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Good communication skills, particularly when dealing with colleagues and external partners.
• A willingness and desire to expand your knowledge.
• An interest in transport, logistics and how things move around the UK.
• An ability to work as part of a team while also taking responsibility for your own tasks.
• An understanding of UK geography would be useful, but don't worry if you don't know every town and city; it's something you'll develop through the role.
