The Gastroenterology IBD Clinical Trials Team is looking for a Clinical Trials Assistant to support an increasing portfolio of IBD clinical trials.
Responsibilities
- Assist the IBD clinical research teams with all aspects of administration and coordination related to clinical trials, following Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and trust policies.
- Support an established team of research nurses in recruiting and following up patients who are participating in research trials.
- Coordinate liaison with external research partners such as pharmaceutical companies, research networks and clinical trials units.
- Work with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team in the recruitment, screening and care of patients in IBD clinical trials.
- Be flexible and responsive to the research needs of the organisation, potentially working in other research areas across the Trust.
Qualifications
- Experience of working in this specialty or in clinical research.
- A mature attitude and a minimum of two years’ experience of working with patients or in a patient administration role in a health‑care environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and general use of office suites, including Word and Outlook.
- A basic understanding of scientific protocols.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently, unsupervised and flexibly.

Contract Details
The post is offered on a fixed‑term/secondment basis, full time 37.5 hours per week, although part‑time hours may be considered. The work pattern will be variable between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm Mon‑Fri to meet the needs of the service requirements.
