Are you a highly organised graduate looking to build a career in governance, democratic services, and public decision‑making? Hull & East Yorkshire Combined Authority (HEYCA) is a newly established mayoral combined authority responsible for shaping major regional decisions across transport, skills, regeneration, and investment. We are seeking a motivated Graduate Governance Assistant to join our Law and Governance Team. This is an entry-level officer role providing direct support to statutory scrutiny and wider governance processes, working closely with elected Members and senior officers to support democratic decision-making and accountability across the Authority.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the coordination and effective administration of committee and decision‑making processes, ensuring statutory, procedural and constitutional compliance while providing impartial support to elected Members and senior officers.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of agendas, reports, minutes and statutory publication requirements, supporting effective scrutiny and democratic governance processes.
  • Contribute to the effective delivery of overview and scrutiny functions.
