Oversees project delivery from planning to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and budget targets are met. The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, engineering, and construction management of UK-based infrastructure projects. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects, ensuring that all activities meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
The Construction Manager will also represent Hulkro in client meetings, confidently engaging with external stakeholders, clients, and key members of the internal Hulkro team to ensure successful project delivery.
- Oversee the design, coordination, and monitoring of slip resistance testing and related engineering projects.
- Prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction and Health and Safety.
- Ensure adherence to relevant TfL, British and International standards, Regulations, health safety and environmental considerations.
- Supervise and implement anti-slip testing methods, such as Pendulum and Ramp Tests, to verify compliance with HSE and UKSRG (UK Slip Resistance Group) standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Slip Test Technicians, and reporting staff to maintain accuracy and consistency in test data and documentation.
- Communicate with the Project Manager and wider team to provide assistance and technical support.
- Review site layout drawings, test locations, and slip resistance results.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and adherence to project goals and safety standards.
- Undertake and document design reviews with a focus on slip resistance and floor safety, aligning project outcomes with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all engineering activities are carried out with consideration to key stakeholders in the Transport for London, London Underground and interfacing operational environments.
Role Requirements
Experience: Experience in multidisciplinary environment – Min. 5 years.
Required Skills:
- Previous professional engineering management experience on transportation, water, and/or land development projects is required.
- Experience in the Rail Industry and a sound understanding of the Rail Environment, rules and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure within time constraints.
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
- Proven capability to build relationships, be proactive and be part of a variety of teams, including multidisciplinary teams.
- Computer literate and good experience of computer software programs such as, MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
Desired Skills: Experience and practice in the following: Network Rail GRIP, PACE and/or TfL Pathway.
