Field-based and working throughout UK & Ireland, reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, the Engineer is responsible for learning on site and remote support for the range of Heidelberg products on which they will be trained. They will exercise flexibility with working hours and overnight stays as required. Completion of daily timesheets providing written, verbal, and practical support to internal and external customers ensuring satisfaction with Heidelberg products is required.
The Mechanical (Mechatronic) Engineer will have a recognised engineering qualification (such as BTEC or City & Guilds) with a wide range of mechanical, basic electrical and computer literate skills. Experience of working on commercial equipment within a production environment alone and as part of a team is required. Consistently displaying a positive attitude towards customer service is a necessity, as is the ability to work within a close team, whilst displaying the necessary individual initiative required to achieve and maintain service targets and KPI’s. Good communication, IT and customer liaison skills are essential to this role.
Skills
- Must have a full clean UK driving licence.
- Electrical & Mechanical aptitude.
- Good IT Skills.
- Attain/enrolled in an engineering/electrical qualification e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, B-tech or recently completed recognised qualification.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for installing, investigating and repairing machine faults assigned by the CSC (Customer Support Centre) or respective Supervisor(s) covering our range of products.
- Plan and prepare the correct parts/equipment and resource needed for repairs assigned to you.
- Assist customers and internal staff with the identification of spare parts.
- Customer facing and ensure problems or concerns are communicated back to the CSC / Supervisor / Spare Parts and Sales departments to ensure our customers have the best possible experience.
- Assist and support colleagues when needed.
- Provide Helpdesk / Telephone support when required.
- Observe Health and Safety regulations, Company handbook regulation and company policy and procedures.
- Other such responsibilities may, from time to time, be allocated by the Company.
