Purpose of the Role
To manage the day-to-day operation of the base kitchen, ensuring the timely production and delivery of high-quality meals and compliance with company procedures, food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including the line management of Catering Assistants.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with agreed menus, recipes and ingredients.
- Support colleagues with the production of meals for delivery to other Trust schools when required.
- Assist the Catering Operations Manager with menu planning, portion control, ingredients and costing.
- Serve pupils, ensuring agreed portion controls are maintained.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and service areas, including washing up and waste removal.
- Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety, food hygiene and company procedures.
- Ensure all required records and logs are accurately completed, including allergens, temperatures, food preparation, transportation, cleaning and wastage.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and support supplier quality control.
- Raise and assist with resolving any issues, suggestions or complaints from pupils, parents and carers.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
- Take responsibility for personal professional development and participate in the Company's Professional Review and Development Scheme.
