Overview

My client, a leading provider of innovative Building and Energy Management Systems (BEMS), is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join their BMS team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring software engineer to develop their skills and progress within the BMS field while working on a range of large-scale projects in the London area.

The Role

As a Junior BMS Software Engineer, you will support the development and commissioning of BMS software, working closely with experienced engineers to enhance your technical expertise. You will contribute to various aspects of project delivery, from assisting in software development to participating in design reviews and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing BMS software solutions under the guidance of senior engineers
• Work with BMS platforms such as Distech, Schneider, Tridium, and Delta
• Support project teams by identifying design issues and contributing to effective solutions
• Participate in internal design reviews, learning from feedback and guidance
• Contribute to on-site commissioning and factory testing
• Follow technical documentation, including Descriptions of Operation, panel drawings, and points lists
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure successful project delivery

About You

• Some basic software experience, either as a graduate or through previous work
• Preferably some exposure to BMS software and control systems, though not essential
• An understanding of programming concepts and a willingness to develop best practices in software development
• Some knowledge of IT networks and IP-based systems would be advantageous
• Highly motivated to establish a career as a Software Engineer and eager to develop technical skills
• Keen to learn and apply software engineering principles within the BMS field
