We’re currently looking for an Environment, Health & Safety Specialist in Preston, Victoria.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices, ensure compliance with regulations, provide expert guidance to staff, and foster a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Indicative tasks (but not limited to)
- Coordinating systems and procedures in accordance with ISO 45001 and safety requirements of other certificates required at the Preston site.
- Provide advice and counsel to Managers, facilitators and employees regarding safety management systems.
- Support Managers and relevant stakeholders in facilitating a return-to-work program for injured workers.
- Responsible for day-to-day safety on the site.
- Promote health, safety, and compliance by following safe work practices, protecting confidentiality and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Inform, maintain and complete all requirements regarding Work Cover claims and Work Safe matters.
- Investigate safety-related matters with a view to identifying areas of improvement.
- Lead or assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions.
- Assist Work Safe and the company’s Work Cover insurers with any investigations relating to accidents, incidents and unsafe working conditions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations and company policies.
- Lead or support environmental audits, inspections and improvement initiatives.
