Material Controller

Huhtamaki is a global provider of sustainable packaging solutions. We’re on a mission to make all packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable, and every day we ensure the hygiene and safety of food and drink around the world. We’re looking for a Material Controller to join our Holbrook Gosport warehouse, based in Gosport, England. The role is full‑time and requires a reasonable commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload deliveries of reels and other materials with care and efficiency.
  • Accurately book stock into our inventory system to ensure full traceability.
  • Provide stock to production in a timely manner to support smooth manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy in all transactions and records to uphold quality and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Follow all safety and handling procedures to protect yourself, your colleagues and our products.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Valid MHE licences – Reach Truck, Counterbalance Forklift, and Ride‑On Powered Pallet Truck (experience with all three preferred).
  • Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Computer literacy – comfortable using inventory systems and basic software for booking and stock control.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – confident communicating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing and load preparation.
  • Commitment to health & safety – proactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment when operating machinery.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar digital inventory systems.
