Shifnal Bowling Club is seeking a dedicated and practical Grounds Manager to join our Management Committee and play a vital role in the dayâtoâday success and longâterm development of our club. This is a key voluntary position for someone who takes pride in high standards, enjoys working outdoors, and wants to make a real difference to a friendly and wellâestablished community sports club.
The Role
The Grounds Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and presentation of the club's grounds (excluding the bowling green), ensuring that our facilities remain safe, attractive and fit for members and visitors alike. The role also contributes to the wider management and future planning of the club as part of the Management Committee.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining grass borders, hedging, paving, shelters, fencing and external furniture.
- Ensuring the irrigation system and grounds equipment are kept in good working order.
- Working with the Treasurer on groundsârelated expenditure.
- Implementing recommendations from risk assessments.
- Reporting to the Management Committee and contributing to the Club Development Plan.
What weâre looking for
