Hughes Safety Showers are looking for a hardworking Assembler to join their growing team at their site in Stockport, Cheshire.

As an Assembler, you will be a part of the Production team who manufacture lifesaving safety equipment. You will be hands on building sub-assemblies and final products to drawings and customer specifications, to the highest quality across a wide variety of product ranges, providing bespoke solutions across a wider range of industries including, water utilities, oil and gas, offshore and pharmaceutical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow drawings, customer specifications, standard operating procedures, works orders and bill of materials to build sub-assemblies and products to the highest quality whilst working in a safe manner at all times.
  • Test sub-assemblies and products to ensure all components pass quality inspection.
  • Identify and resolve any technical problems arising in the assembly of components and products with the support of your line manager.
  • Complete all required Production sign off documentation.
  • Ensure a continued awareness of the Production Schedule to meet strict deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workspace and to ensure a clean readily workable area ready for production the following day.
  • Support the wider Production team to meet departmental goals, including on time delivery.

Education, experience and skills:

  • A basic secondary education.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical qualification is an advantage.
  • 2 years’ experience as an Assembler, Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician or similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to read and understand production drawings.
  • Ability to use hand tools and battery-operated equipment.
  • Able to follow instruction.
