The Role: The Line Supervisor/Production Supervisor will support the Production Manager in the efficient day-to-day running of the department within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will ensure production targets are achieved safely, on time, and in full compliance with food safety, quality, and legal standards. The role involves coordinating team activities, ensuring adequate staffing and training, maintaining high hygiene standards, and driving operational efficiency. You will also provide supervisory cover in the absence of the Production Supervisor, ensuring continuity, performance, and clear communication across the team.

Pattern: On a rota based, to be discussed at interview

Hours: 40 hours per week / 0730 - 1700 / Hourly Pay

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: Dungannon

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the team to achieve operational objectives and agreed KPIs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety standards and procedures.
  • Carry out required Food Safety and Quality checks, including CCP monitoring and documentation.
  • Ensure the safe operation of machinery, including completion of start-up checks and prompt reporting and escalation of any defects.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, operating a strict clean as you go policy.
  • Ensure all company documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Deliver all orders to the required quality standards, within agreed timeframes, and in line with customer specifications.
  • Monitor and control waste to minimise loss and maximise resource efficiency.
  • Support preparation for internal and external audits and assist during on-site inspections and customer visits.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility within the organisation.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Understanding of HACCP principles and CCP monitoring.
  • Experience working to KPIs and production targets.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Ability to complete documentation accurately and maintain clear records.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Food Safety Level 2 or Level 3 certification.
  • Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH or equivalent).
  • Experience preparing for or participating in internal/external audits.
  • Experience in machinery start-up checks and basic fault reporting.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or waste reduction practices.
