The Role

The Despatch Warehouse Operative is responsible for supporting the day-to-day despatch operation by picking, packing, loading, and dispatching products accurately and safely within a fast-paced fresh produce and manufacturing environment. The role will support the Despatch Team in ensuring customer orders are prepared correctly, stock is handled safely, and high standards of food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for dispatch within required timeframes.
  • Safely load and unload vehicles and move stock within warehouse and chilled storage areas.
  • Follow FIFO stock rotation procedures and support stock control activities as required.
  • Complete dispatch paperwork, scanning, and traceability records accurately.
  • Inspect products for damage or quality concerns and report issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and safe dispatch and warehouse areas.
  • Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, allergen control, and health & safety procedures.
  • Wear required PPE and work safely at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding shortages, delays, or operational issues.
  • Support team performance and assist other departments when required.
  • Maintain a flexible and positive approach to daily operational duties.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities in line with business needs.
