The role Huel is on a mission to make nutritionally complete food accessible to everyone - and as we grow into new markets, keeping our products legal, safe, and accurately labelled is non-negotiable. Our Regulatory & Compliance Manager is the go-to expert for everything compliance-related across our full product range: Powders, Greens, Bars, RTD, Hot & Savoury, and whatever exciting new formats come next. No day is ever the same at Huel. Our fast-paced environment comes with ambitious targets that can sometimes make your palms feel a little sweaty, but it’s a place where you can really make a difference.
Here’s an insight into what you will be doing:
- Regulatory Compliance: Own compliance across all Huel markets; monitor regulatory changes and horizon scan for emerging risks before they become problems.
- Labelling & Documentation: Lead labelling requirements for all markets (UK, USA, Japan, Germany), manage artwork workflows with our design agency.
- Barcode: Own end-to-end barcode strategy, defining and overseeing global barcode standards and processes, ensuring accurate creation, implementation, and compliance across diverse markets and omnichannel platforms, supporting seamless product identification and supply chain integrity.
- NPD: Be the regulatory voice in NPD - unlocking opportunities on new products while keeping us on the right side of the law from concept to launch and ensuring timely artwork creation.
- Strategy and Advocacy: Shape Huel's regulatory strategy; identify key initiatives that drive business improvement and support our international growth ambition.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key cross-functional partner to Ops, NPD, Marketing, and Technical; build strong external relationships with trade associations and food authorities.

What we’re looking for in you:
- 5 + years of experience working in a Regulatory and Compliance role within a food manufacturing or closely related business. Ideally with a relevant degree (could be in food, math or science) but this isn’t essential.
- Regulatory labelling knowledge is essential (UK & International). We continue to grow internationally, so the ability to move things forward without putting the business at risk is essential.
- Knowledge and experience of accreditations such as (but not limited to) BRC, SQF, Kosher, Halal and Organic.
- Exposure to, and an understanding of food manufacturing processes (some factory experience/awareness is a great bonus).
- Knowledge of packaging regulations would be an advantage, but if not, interest in learning and getting stuck in on helping other teams navigate requirements on DRS Schemes and PPWR.
- Familiarity with regulatory trends and trade association engagement.
- Champion digital ways of working and the adoption of AI and other tools to enhance systems and efficiency.
- A problem solver who doesn’t wait for issues to land, you’ll spot them early and come with solutions.
- A clear communicator - taking complex regulatory detail and translate it into something anyone in the business can act on.
