Job Title: Contract Wire Person
Are you a Wire Person, Panel Wirer, or Electrical Assembler looking for contract work in a busy technical workshop? We’re recruiting experienced contractors to support the build and test of power distribution units (PDUs), electrical panels, and custom cable assemblies for high-profile projects in the live events and broadcast sectors.
This is a hands-on role ideal for freelance wirepersons, electrician’s mates, or technical fitters with strong wiring skills and availability for immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
Wire and assemble mains power distribution boxes, panels, and racks from schematics
Strip cables, crimp terminals, and install sockets/connectors using hand tools
Cut and prepare cable to required lengths and configurations
Operate testing equipment and assist with fault-finding and repairs
Maintain high standards of quality control, safety, and workshop discipline
Work independently or as part of a contractor team to meet build schedules
Requirements:
Proven experience in electrical wiring, panel building, or technical assembly
Ability to read wiring diagrams and work with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and reliability under pressure
Own basic hand tools (preferred)
Previous contract work as a Wire Person, Electrician’s Mate, or Panel Wirer highly desirable
