We are urgently seeking an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a modern, well-structured manufacturing environment. This role is suited to someone with a strong background in precision machining who can programme, set, and operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently to achieve right-first-time results.
You will be joining an inclusive, collaborative team within a professional workshop housing state-of-the-art CNC machinery, laser equipment, and CMM inspection. The business supports a diverse range of high-tech sectors including medical, aerospace, semiconductor, nuclear, and other scientific industries.
- Programme, set, and operate CNC milling machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture
- Create and maintain layout sheets detailing tooling, set-ups, and machine parameters
- Work independently to high standards while meeting production deadlines
- Document quality results in line with company procedures
Time-served apprenticeship preferred (not essential). Ideally several years experience programming and operating 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC milling machines. Ability to take responsibility for own quality, including use of MTE and completion of quality documentation. Previous experience with Doosan, Matsuura, and/or Mazak machines. Ability to machine to tight tolerances (circa 20 microns). Experience machining large components up to 2.5 metres. Overhead crane and manual handling training beneficial (training can be provided). High focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. Flexible and adaptable to support a changing business environment.
39-hour week. Holidays: 23 days + 8 bank holidays. Pension: 4% matched scheme (post-probation 3 months).
