As Head of Sales for UK & Europe in the chemicals arena, you will lead and manage sales across Europe, driving revenue growth through effective communication and customer engagement. You will work closely within the commercial team and other departments to meet sales targets and achieve company objectives to maximise growth and drive strategic sales growth across Europe within the chemicals space.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing regional sales strategy across Europe in line with business objectives.
- Delivering revenue, margin, and growth targets across key European markets and customer segments.
- Building, managing, and growing strategic key accounts through structured account planning and value-based selling.
- Developing long-term customer partnerships and acting as senior commercial interface for key stakeholders.
- Transitioning customers from transactional business models to long-term, contract-based relationships.
- Leading pricing strategy, negotiation, and margin optimisation across European accounts.
- Identifying and developing new direct customer opportunities across Europe, reducing reliance on intermediaries or distributors.
- Conducting market intelligence and competitor analysis, translating insights into actionable commercial strategies.
- Working cross-functionally with Product, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to support delivery and growth initiatives.
- Maintaining strong commercial discipline across forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM usage.
- Supporting go-to-market planning and execution for new products and commercial initiatives.
- Monitoring performance against regional plans and implementing corrective actions where required.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Business, Chemistry, or related discipline preferred.
- Proven experience in senior sales or commercial leadership within chemicals or related industrial sectors.
- Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and margin improvement across European markets.
- Experience managing key accounts and complex commercial negotiations.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategy, value selling, and contract-based sales models.
- Ability to operate across multiple European markets and cultures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and commercial performance metrics.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or equivalent) and commercial reporting tools.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at senior level.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across technical, operational, and commercial teams.
- Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
