An established and growing manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Extrusion Operator to support continued growth driven by increased customer demand and order volume. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in manufacturing who is looking to develop a long-term career within a reputable and well-established production environment.

Hours of work: 7:00-3:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Polymer Extrusion Process Management
    • Oversee and manage polymer extrusion processes from raw material preparation through to final product extrusion
    • Monitor and control key extrusion parameters to ensure product quality and consistency
    • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues in a timely manner
  • Quality Assurance
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures within the extrusion process
    • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards
    • Work closely with quality teams to investigate and resolve non-conformances
  • Process Optimisation
    • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous process improvement
    • Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams on new technologies and process enhancements
    • Analyse performance data and metrics to optimise extrusion parameters and efficiency
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Oversee day-to-day condition and performance of extrusion equipment
    • Coordinate and support preventative maintenance activities
    • Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure timely fault resolution and repairs

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience operating polymer extrusion processes in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of polymer materials and their behaviour during extrusion
  • Experience working with quality control procedures and continuous improvement methods
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-focused environment
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within manufacturing
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practice in polymer extrusion
