Sliding Head Operator Setter, Operator & Programmer (Citizen Lathes)
Location: Essex
Pay Rate: Β£18-Β£20 per hour + Overtime (1.5x)
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7am – 4pm, Friday: 7am – 12pm (Overtime available: 1-2 hours per day)
Holidays: 5 weeks paid holiday
Hudson Shribman is seeking a skilled Sliding Head Operator to join a precision engineering firm supplying high-spec components to aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. You will be working on Citizen sliding head lathes, known for their high-speed, multi-axis capabilities and Fanuc control systems, producing small to medium batch components with tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set, operate, and program Citizen CNC sliding head lathes (Fanuc controls)
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Make in-process adjustments to maintain precision and quality
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
- Collaborate with QC and support teams to ensure production standards
- Experience with STAR sliding head machines is a bonus
