As an experienced analytical chemist with LC-MS or GC-MS, you will play a key part in the development and application of advanced analytical methodologies, delivering high-quality scientific data to support innovation, product understanding, competitor analysis, and regulatory submissions.
As an experienced analytical chemist, you will possess strong expertise in advanced instrumental analysis, method development, non-targeted screening techniques, and complex data interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and deliver analytical research projects, ensuring the generation of high-quality, scientifically robust data.
- Develop and implement innovative analytical methodologies to support product development, scientific research, and regulatory activities.
- Lead and contribute to method development, optimisation, validation, and transfer activities within a quality-controlled laboratory environment.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques LC-MS or GC-MS, HRMS to investigate complex chemical matrices and generate meaningful scientific insights.
- Conduct targeted and non-targeted analytical investigations using state-of-the-art instrumentation and data processing tools.
- Ensure analytical data meets defined quality standards and is delivered in a timely and fit-for-purpose manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional scientific, technical, and commercial teams to develop analytical solutions and support business objectives.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with external laboratories, suppliers, academic institutions, and scientific collaborators.
- Monitor developments in analytical science and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, scientific presentations, publications, and conference materials.
- Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Sciences.
- Experience within an analytical laboratory, research, or product development environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience using advanced analytical instrumentation, including techniques such as: LC-MS, GC-MS, High-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS).
- Strong expertise in analytical method development, optimisation, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with complex chemical matrices and trace-level compound analysis.
- Proven experience conducting non-targeted screening studies and advanced data interpretation.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and regulated laboratory environments, including ISO 17025 and/or GxP standards.
- Experience processing, analysing, and interpreting large analytical datasets.
- Experience with high-resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometry.
- Knowledge of automated analytical data processing platforms.
- Experience with Python programming, data science, or statistical analysis tools.
