We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business in Peterborough that designs and manufactures specialist industrial machinery supplied to customers across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Assembler / Workshop Fitter, offering the opportunity to secure a permanent role with ongoing training and development.
The Role
Working within a busy engineering workshop, you'll assist in the assembly and build of bespoke industrial machinery from engineering drawings. You'll work alongside experienced engineers building high-quality equipment before it is installed at customer sites.
Your duties will include:
- Mechanical assembly of bespoke machinery and equipment
- Building sub-assemblies using engineering drawings
- Using hand and power tools
- Fitting mechanical components
- Supporting machine build and final assembly
- Identifying and reporting build issues
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
- Occasional travel to customer sites to assist with installations
Every project is different, giving you the opportunity to continually develop your engineering skills.
We're looking for someone with:
- Previous mechanical assembly or fitting experience
- Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
- Experience reading engineering drawings (preferred)
- Good practical problem-solving skills
