We are currently working with a leading organisation in the life safety and communications sector to recruit an experienced and technically strong PAVA (Public Address & Voice Alarm) Engineer. This is a field-based role with the majority of work concentrated in London, supporting reactive call-outs, planned preventative maintenance, and small-scale projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain, and fault-find on PAVA systems, ensuring compliance with current industry standards.
- Apply an in-depth working knowledge of BS5839-8, which is a critical requirement for this role.
- Identify and report on system faults, non-conformities, and necessary remedial works, producing accurate site documentation.
- Provide both on-site and remote technical support to engineering colleagues and clients.
- Follow all internal health & safety protocols and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Engage proactively with management and contribute to technical meetings and briefings.
- Manage administrative tasks efficiently, including timesheets, mileage logs, and expenses.
- Support with audits of vehicles, tools, and processes, ensuring ongoing compliance and readiness.
- Carry out any additional duties reasonably required by the Area Service Manager.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven background in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial audio systems.
- Extensive practical understanding of BS5839-8 and its application within real-world environments.
- Knowledge of audio hardware, basic electronics, and IT/networking.
- Relevant technical qualifications in electrical/sound engineering, or strong academic background in maths/science.
- Clear, professional communication skills – both verbal and written.
- IT literate, with experience using digital tools for diagnostics and reporting.
