An excellent opportunity for an early-career chemist to join a dynamic and supportive team applying their lab skills to a more office-based role.

£30,000 salary equivalent / c£15.38 per hour PAYE South East | TEMP – 6 months | On-site

This is a varied, more project-based role combines laboratory knowledge with coordination of testing, samples and technical activities.

You will work with internal teams and external providers to ensure laboratory and testing activities are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate laboratory activities, testing and sample requirements.
  • Support sample preparation activities.
  • Schedule analytical, bench and performance testing.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external testing providers.
  • Maintain accurate records and technical documentation.
  • Manage multiple activities and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Support laboratory operations and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and housekeeping.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or relevant background in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial/Process Chemistry or similar.
  • Practical laboratory experience within a chemical, manufacturing, formulation or testing environment.
  • Experience within formulation, blending or analytical testing would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Confident working independently and taking ownership of activities.
  • Experience with LIMS, electronic laboratory notebooks or laboratory systems would be useful.
