We are currently recruiting for a Manual Miller / Machine Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Hayes. This role would suit someone with previous experience operating workshop machinery within a manufacturing or engineering environment who is looking to further develop their machining skills within a busy machine shop.
The company is looking for someone with a good mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic and hands-on manufacturing experience who can be trained and developed within the role.
Key Responsibilities- Operate manual workshop and drilling machinery
- Assist with manual milling and machining operations
- Work from engineering drawings and production instructions
- Carry out basic inspection and quality checks
- Support general machine shop and production activities
- Maintain good housekeeping and workshop standards
- Work closely with production and engineering teams
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or machine shop environment
- Experience operating machinery such as: Pillar drills, Vertical drilling machines, Manual workshop machinery
- Good hands-on engineering or mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and develop machining skills
- Reliable and proactive approach to work
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings would be beneficial
