An established precision engineering and advanced manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Inspection & Quality Engineer to join its quality team. The business manufactures components for demanding industrial applications where quality, accuracy and traceability are critical.

The Role
As an Inspection & Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet exact customer specifications and the highest quality standards. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will carry out inspections throughout the manufacturing process, maintain quality documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first article, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Use a wide range of inspection and measuring equipment to verify product conformity.
- Produce and maintain inspection reports, certificates and quality documentation.
- Ensure all activities comply with the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and maintain high manufacturing standards.
- Support continuous improvement activities across the quality function.
- Maintain accurate records and document control using computer-based systems.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience within a Quality, Inspection or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Previous experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
- A good understanding of inspection techniques, quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across production and engineering teams.
- Good computer literacy for producing inspection reports, certificates and quality documentation.
- Experience with first article inspection, in-process inspection and calibration processes would be advantageous, although additional external training can be provided where required.
Package
Up to £39k depending on experience. Permanent position with a 39-hour working week and an early finish on Fridays (1:15 pm). Overtime available, paid at 1.3x basic hourly rate (weekdays) and 1.5x basic hourly rate (weekends). 25 days' annual leave; Pension.
