We are recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen an established engineering team working on low–voltage AC (LVAC) systems and power distribution equipment used within regulated, infrastructure–led applications. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical background who enjoys working close to manufacture, understands standards and compliance, and wants to be involved across the full product lifecycle rather than purely desk–based design.

The Role

You will play a key role in the design and development of LVAC electrical systems, supporting both new product development and existing production activity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Electrical design of LVAC systems, switchgear, or power distribution equipment
  • Producing and maintaining electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production
  • Ensuring designs comply with IEC / BS EN standards and internal quality procedures
  • Supporting manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Assisting with fault investigation, root cause analysis, and design improvements
  • Liaising with mechanical engineers, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders
  • Occasional site visits for meetings, investigations, or support activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Background as an Electrical Design Engineer or electrically biased Electro–Mechanical Engineer
  • Proven experience working with LVAC / low–voltage electrical systems
  • Exposure to switchgear, control panels, or power distribution equipment
  • Experience producing electrical schematics and wiring documentation
  • Understanding of engineering standards and compliance (IEC / BS EN)
  • Comfortable supporting designs through manufacture and production

Qualifications

  • HNC / HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Rail or infrastructure project exposure
  • Experience in regulated or safety–critical industries
  • Knowledge of testing, commissioning, or fault–finding
  • Experience working in mixed electrical / mechanical engineering teams

Why Apply?

  • Join a technically focused team with strong engineering depth
  • Work on real–world LVAC systems, not consultancy–only design
  • Long–term, stable permanent role
  • Opportunity to influence designs from concept to manufacture
