Are you an experienced Panel Wirer looking for a hands‑on role where you can see a machine built from start to finish? We are recruiting for a skilled Panel Wirer / Electro‑Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing business specialising in the build of bespoke industrial machinery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working from electrical drawings, wiring schematics and visual assembly instructions, taking ownership of both panel wiring and machine build activities.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the assembly and manufacture of specialist machinery, with a primary focus on control panel wiring, electrical installation and machine assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Control panel assembly and wiring from electrical drawings and schematics
- Wiring machinery and associated equipment
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams and visual work instructions
- Mechanical assembly and fitting of machine components and sub‑assemblies
- Installation of pneumatic components and systems
- Testing completed assemblies using provided procedures
- Carrying out self‑inspection and quality checks
- Supporting continuous improvement activities within production
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workshop organisation
- Assisting with spares orders, packing and other production‑related activities when required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Panel Wirer, Control Panel Wireman, Electrical Assembly Technician or similar
- Ability to read and work from electrical drawings and wiring schematics
- Experience wiring control panels to a high standard
- Strong electro‑mechanical assembly skills
- Mechanical fitting and machine build experience
- Knowledge of industrial electrical assembly best practices
- Experience with pneumatic installations would be advantageous (training can be provided)
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Forklift truck licence
- Previous experience building special purpose machinery or industrial equipment
