We're recruiting an Electrical Project Engineer to join a well-established engineering business that designs, builds and delivers industrial automation and electrical engineering projects for customers across the UK. Working across sectors including manufacturing, food & beverage and parcel distribution, you'll play a key role in delivering projects from initial concept through to installation, commissioning and final handover. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys seeing projects through from start to finish and wants to work on technically challenging, large-scale industrial installations.
The Role
Reporting to a Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for coordinating the electrical aspects of industrial projects, working closely with customers, design engineers, manufacturing teams, installation engineers and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. The role combines office-based project work with regular travel to customer sites across the UK, giving you the opportunity to be involved throughout the complete project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery of electrical engineering projects from design through to commissioning.
- Coordinate design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, quotations and project information.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal engineering teams.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure projects comply with RAMS, site safety procedures and current legislation.
- Monitor project progress, identify issues and help deliver practical solutions.
- Support testing, commissioning and successful project handover.
About You
You'll have a strong industrial electrical background together with experience delivering projects within manufacturing, automation or other industrial environments. We'd be particularly interested in candidates who have worked as:

- Good understanding of electrical installations within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving ability.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
