An experienced Sales Engineer is urgently required to report to the Director of Sales & Marketing and support the sales, service, and marketing functions by managing the sales pipeline across Western Europe.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing new systems business and providing timely quotations to customers.
- Building revenue and supporting sales and marketing activities such as trade shows and exhibitions.
- Building and nurturing relationships across the UK and Europe, providing ongoing support to customers throughout the region.
- Managing all aspects of new system sales and providing sales support to prospects and customers across Europe.
- Providing technical sales support to customers and prospects throughout Europe.
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with the existing customer base.
- Proactively engaging with prospects and customers to drive sales growth.
- Building and managing a pipeline of new system opportunities across Europe.
- Discussing technical requirements with customers; preparing and presenting proposals from the UK sales team.
- Supporting the UK project management team with customer project preparation and technical queries during system installations.
- Acting as the technical single point of contact / project lead for clients on-site.
- Delivering high-quality proposals on time and to specification.
- Gathering necessary site and technical data to ensure smooth installations and system operation.
- Representing the company at conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions.
- Participating in design reviews and project close-out reviews.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- HND or Degree qualified background in engineering.
- Strong experience with hydraulic equipment or similar ideally within testing applications.
- Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities across sales and marketing activities.
- Experienced in B2B customer-facing technical sales related to engineering.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Familiarity with commercial/business contracts.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
- Ability to travel by air or car (up to approx. 10%).
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Experience attending exhibitions/trade shows.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
- Additional European language skills are advantageous.
Home-based remote role, Full UK driving licence required.
Package: £55-65k Base: Salary dependent on experience, Uncapped commission (current OTE £510k), 25 days holiday, Car or car allowance, Pension and benefits package.
