Chemistry /Materials Lab Technician (R&D) c26k + Benefits\\n\\nSouth East ABJ7611\\n\\n1-year full time contract\\n\\nWith a background in chemistry and / or materials our client is looking for a chemist /materials scientist / or laboratory technician who would like be part of a global organisation supporting R&D Technical Support for the development of new materials and within laboratory function for Materials, Product Development Projects.\\n\\nAs a chemistry or materials chemist you would be testing, gathering and recording chemistry data and using laboratory equipment at an operator level, preparation of chemical solutions, and handling of materials.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Conduct laboratory analysis of materials as required, using analytical techniques like IC and ICP-OES.\\n\\n * Materials testing hardness testing etc\\n\\n * Responsible for the delivery of technical data in support of projects and service work.\\n\\n * Assess the chemical properties of the substrate\\n\\n * Gather, interpret, and record data using computers and online systems.\\n\\n * Operate and maintain lab equipment.\\n\\n * Help upkeep cleanliness of the lab environment, maintain and track sample records.\\n\\n * Assist with a broad range of tasks to support the R&D team’s daily operations and project needs.\\n\\n * Contribute to maintain and support continuous improvement and high standards for safety and quality.\\n\\n * Participate on-going improvement of the laboratories and equipment, capability, knowledge management and transfer of best practices.\\n\\nThis could be a great first role for a graduate to gain experience, training in a global company.\\n\\nQualifications / Experience\\n\\n * Background in chemistry or materials or materials engineering (degree NVQ etc)\\n\\n * Laboratory experience with chemistry or materials preferred (university practical or projects / placement years etc)\\n\\n * Competent operating laboratory equipment like ICP but training would be given\\n\\n * Any materials testing experience desirable\\n\\n * Practical person with ability to work with minimal supervision.\\n\\n * Use of computer (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).\\n\\n * Metals or polymer industry experience desirable\\n\\n * Demonstrable know-how and skills in managing materials evaluations\\n\\nBenefits: incl. 12m contract – Pension prorate; private medical insurance; life Assurance;\\n\\nTo Apply: Please contact Alison Basson ABJ7611 on (phone number removed) or apply to
