Seeking a driven, ambitious Sales & Business Development Manager to make a real impact across the UK pharmaceutical packaging market. This is not a traditional account management role. Around 70% of the role is focused on winning new business, opening doors, developing new relationships and converting target pharmaceutical customers, with the remaining 30% focused on growing and protecting existing accounts.

You'll be a genuine sales hunter – someone who enjoys picking up the phone, opening conversations, building relationships and turning opportunities into revenue. You'll need the confidence, persistence and commercial instinct to challenge incumbent suppliers and win new pharmaceutical accounts. Pharmaceutical packaging experience is highly desirable, ideally combined with an established network within UK pharma and a proven track record of winning business across packaging, print, labels, cartons, leaflets or other regulated products/services.

Home based | Client-facing | UK remit – with a particular focus on the North East, North West and Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hunt & Win New Business
  • Develop and execute a targeted new-business strategy across the UK pharmaceutical market
  • Identify and target pharmaceutical manufacturers, CDMOs and relevant healthcare organisations
  • Open doors and build relationships with new prospects
  • Generate opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, industry contacts and market intelligence
  • Identify opportunities to displace incumbent suppliers
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Take opportunities from initial conversation through to commercial agreement and contract award
  • Develop compelling solutions around customers' pharmaceutical packaging requirements
  • Build Senior Relationships
  • Build relationships with decision-makers and influencers across Procurement, Packaging, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and Commercial
  • Develop multi-level relationships within target accounts
  • Establish yourself as a trusted commercial partner rather than simply a supplier
  • Build and maintain a strong network across the UK pharmaceutical sector
  • Grow Existing Accounts
  • Manage and develop an existing portfolio of pharmaceutical customers
