Business Development Manager – Pharmaceutical Packaging ABJ6753AB c.£60-75k Base + Bonus Structure + Car Allowance Seeking a driven, ambitious Sales & Business Development Manager to make a real impact across the UK pharmaceutical packaging market. This is not a traditional account management role. Around 70% of the role is focused on winning new business, opening doors, developing new relationships and converting target pharmaceutical customers, with the remaining 30% focused on growing and protecting existing accounts. You’ll be a genuine sales hunter – someone who enjoys picking up the phone, opening conversations, building relationships and turning opportunities into revenue. You’ll need the confidence, persistence and commercial instinct to challenge incumbent suppliers and win new pharmaceutical accounts. Pharmaceutical packaging experience is highly desirable, ideally combined with an established network within UK pharma and a proven track record of winning business across packaging, print, labels, cartons, leaflets or other regulated products/services. Home-based | Client-facing | UK remit Territory: Flexible depending on candidate location, with dedicated separate territories of the Midlands, Wales, South West and South East. Key Responsibilities Hunt & Win New Business * Develop and execute a targeted new-business strategy across the UK pharmaceutical market * Identify and target pharmaceutical manufacturers, CDMOs and relevant healthcare organisations * Generate opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, industry contacts and market intelligence * Identify opportunities to displace incumbent suppliers * Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities * Take opportunities from initial conversation through to commercial agreement and contract award * Develop compelling solutions around customers’ pharmaceutical packaging requirements Build Senior Relationships * Build relationships with decision-makers and influencers across Procurement, Packaging, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and Commercial * Establish yourself as a trusted commercial partner rather than simply a supplier * Build and maintain a strong network across the UK pharmaceutical sector Grow Existing Accounts * Manage and develop an existing portfolio of pharmaceutical customers * Protect existing revenue while identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet Market & Commercial Development * Develop a strong understanding of the UK pharmaceutical packaging market * Identify market trends, upcoming projects, product launches and changing packaging requirements What We’re Looking For * A proven sales hunter, rather than a traditional account manager * Strong B2B sales and business development experience * Experience within pharmaceutical packaging, print, labels, cartons, leaflets or regulated products/services * A proven track record of winning new pharmaceutical customers * Ideally an established network and relationships within UK pharmaceutical companies * Experience selling to senior stakeholders across Procurement, Packaging, Supply Chain, Operations, * Experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles * Resilience and persistence – you won’t give up after the first “no” * Highly proactive, autonomous and results-driven commercially hungry, confident. * Willingness to travel regularly to customers across the North UK Package Salary: c.£60-75k base, depending on experience Benefits: Car allowance, pension, PHI scheme Bonus: Performance-based bonus linked to budgeted sales: Home Based | then designated a territory To Apply : Alison Basson quoting Ref: ABJ6753A on (phone number removed), or preferably apply to
