As Head of Sales for UK & Europe in the chemicals arena, you will lead and manage sales across Europe, driving revenue growth through effective communication and customer engagement.

As Head of Sales for Europe, reporting to the Director of Sales, you will work closely within the commercial team and other departments to meet sales targets and achieve company objectives to maximise growth and drive strategic sales growth across Europe within the chemicals space.

You will lead key customer relationships, develop regional commercial strategy, and deliver sustainable revenue and margin growth across multiple European markets. This role requires strategic leadership, commercial execution, and customer development, with a focus on expanding direct business, strengthening key accounts, and building long-term partnerships across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategy across Europe in line with business objectives.
  • Deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets across key European markets and customer segments.
  • Build, manage, and grow strategic key accounts through structured account planning and value-based selling.
  • Develop long-term customer partnerships and act as senior commercial interface for key stakeholders.
  • Transition customers from transactional business models to long-term, contract-based relationships.
  • Lead pricing strategy, negotiation, and margin optimisation across European accounts.
  • Identify and develop new direct customer opportunities across Europe, reducing reliance on intermediaries or distributors.
  • Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis, translating insights into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to support delivery and growth initiatives.
  • Maintain strong commercial discipline across forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM usage.
  • Support go-to-market planning and execution for new products and commercial initiatives.
  • Monitor performance against regional plans and implement corrective actions where required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Business, Chemistry, or related discipline preferred.
  • Proven experience in senior sales or commercial leadership within chemicals or related industrial sectors.
  • Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and margin improvement across European markets.
  • Experience managing key accounts and complex commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy, value selling, and contract-based sales models.
  • Ability to operate across multiple European markets and cultures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and commercial performance metrics.
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or equivalent) and commercial reporting tools.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at senior level.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across technical, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
