We're recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business with a strong reputation for delivering bespoke electrical equipment and engineered solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys seeing designs become real products. You'll work closely with manufacturing, production and testing teams, taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion.

As part of a growing engineering team, you'll be involved in the design and development of electrical systems and products used across a range of industrial and infrastructure applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Designing electrical systems, assemblies and control panels
  • Supporting projects from concept through to manufacture
  • Working closely with production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
  • Supporting design reviews, engineering changes and continuous improvement activities
  • Assisting with testing, fault finding and technical investigations
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal engineering teams
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards and best practices

What We're Looking For:

We're interested in speaking with Electrical Design Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Controls Engineers and Electro-Mechanical Design Engineers who have:

  • Experience producing electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • A practical understanding of electrical systems and equipment
  • Experience supporting products through manufacture or production
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture principles
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Desirable Experience:

  • Control panels
  • Switchgear
  • Power distribution equipment
  • Industrial machinery
  • Manufacturing environments
  • Testing and commissioning
